Comparison between My Prediction and Winner: 14/24
Comment: This year is a harder year to predict because of the close calls in many categories. Mad Max: Fury Road take five technical awards without major wins but it shows the love from the Academy anyway. It is really surprise that Spotlight takes the Best Picture at the end. Mark Rylance is a great win though. We did not expect Ex Machina can take that technical award as well. Too many surprises and I am quite happy for it. LOOK FORWARD TO THE 2017 OSCARS!!

2016 Academy Awards Full List Final Prediction and Will/Should Win Plus Deliberations (For Some Awards)

I am in bad luck these days. Glad that I can still take a day off to watch the Oscars live. Here are my final predictions.

BEST PICTURE
The Big Short
Bridge of Spies
Brooklyn
Mad Max: Fury Road
The Martian
The Revenant
Room
Spotlight
Will Win: The Revenant
Could Win: The Big Short
Should Win: The Big Short
Personal Favorite: Room
Deliberation: The Revenant seems to take it big this year. It is not the top frontrunner until the end of the season. Spotlight and The Big Short still have their chances to grab the prize. Other nominees look like they are just happy to be nominated at the end. Room does really attract my attention but I have still not yet watched it. Out of the eight nominees this year, I have watched five of them (not including Bridge of Spies, Brooklyn and Mad Max: Fury Road).

BEST ACTOR IN LEADING ROLE
Bryan Cranston, Trumbo
Matt Damon, The Martian
Leonardo DiCaprio, The Revenant
Michael Fassbender, Steve Jobs
Eddie Redmayne, The Danish Girl
Will Win: Leonardo DiCaprio, The Revenant
Could Win: Matt Damon, The Martian
Should Win: Leonardo DiCaprio, The Revenant
Personal Favorite: Eddie Redmayne, The Danish Girl
Deliberation: Everybody says that this year is the year of Leonardo DiCaprio because he still have not earned a statuette yet for his wonderful performances in these years. He was definitely ignored for some of his remarkable roles and this is his eventual reward for his acting career. Honestly, i think Eddie Redmayne is very lucky to get some many good roles for his second nomination in a row. He should have won for this role if he did not win last year since this role is even more challenging. Michael Fassbender is also great in the movie and Matt Damon can finally get his turn for such hilarious and heroic performance. Out of the five nominees, I have watched four of their performances (not including Bryan Cranston).

BEST ACTRESS IN LEADING ROLE
Cate Blanchett, Carol
Brie Larson, Room
Jennifer Lawrence, Joy
Charlotte Rampling, 45 Years
Saoirse Ronan, Brooklyn
Will Win: Brie Larson, Room
Could Win: Saoirse Ronan, Brooklyn
Should Win: Brie Larson, Room
Personal Favorite: Brie Larson, Room
Deliberation: This year is between two younger actresses, Brie Larson and Saoirse Ronan. Two of them gave their best performances of their career and obviously Brie Larson is getting more boost for being a single mom in the movie. Cate Blanchett is great also but the movie seems not too popular among voters. Jennifer Lawrence is getting a nomination again and she may be able to break the record of Meryl Streep one day. Out of the five nominees, I have watched three of their performances (not including Charlotte Rampling and Saoirse Ronan).

BEST ACTOR IN SUPPORTING ROLE
Christian Bale, The Big Short
Tom Hardy, The Revenant
Mark Ruffalo, Spotlight
Mark Rylance, Bridge of Spies
Sylvester Stallone, Creed
Will Win: Sylvester Stallone, Creed
Could Win: Mark Rylance, Bridge of Spies
Should Win: Tom Hardy, The Revenant
Personal Favorite: Mark Ruffalo, Spotlight
Deliberation: Sylvester Stallone should thank the support of the audience and voters for referring his performance as an awarding one. I think that he got this award because of the overdue status. Early frontrunner Mark Rylance can shake things up if he works harder for his campaign. Christian Bale and Tom Hardy deliver a good performance respectively in their films. Mark Ruffalo continues to fight for his final win at the Oscars. Out of the five nominees, I have watched four of their performance (not including Mark Rylance).

BEST ACTRESS IN SUPPORTING ROLE
Jennifer Jason Leigh, The Hateful Eight
Rooney Mara, Carol
Rachel McAdams, Spotlight
Alicia Vikander, The Danish Girl
Kate Winslet, Steve Jobs
Will Win: Alicia Vikander, The Danish Girl
Could Win: Kate Winslet, Steve Jobs
Should Win: Alicia Vikander, The Danish Girl
Personal Favorite: Alicia Vikander, The Danish Girl
Deliberation: Indeed this category is full of competition this year and five of them are able to win at the final stage. However, Alicia Vikander can gain a lot of attention as she has five movies released in 2015. She is the spotlight of both The Danish Girl and Ex Machina. Kate Winslet takes two awards home but at the same time Alicia Vikander did not competed with her for The Danish Girl. The other three nominees are all very great as well. It is a hard pick for me too. Out of the five nominees, I have watched all of their performances.

BEST ANIMATED FEATURE FILM
Anomalisa
Boy and the World
Inside Out
Shaun the Sheep Movie
When Marnie Was There
Will Win: Inside Out
Could Win: Anomalisa
Should Win: Anomalisa
Personal Favorite: Inside Out
Deliberation: People like Inside Out very much due to its originality and the cuteness of the characters. Anomalisa can truly reflect the lives of humans with the presentation of animation. Two features which are less well-known can get into the race. Probably there would be at least one Japanese feature in this category every single year after. Out of the five nominees, I have watched two of them (not including Boy and the World, Shaun the Sheep Movie and When Marnie Was There).

BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY
Ed Lachman, Carol
Robert Richardson, The Hateful Eight
John Seale, Mad Max: Fury Road
Emmanuel Lubezki, The Revenant
Roger Deakins, Sicario
Will Win: Emmanuel Lubezki, The Revenant
Could Win: Ed Lachman, Carol
Should Win: Emmanuel Lubezki, The Revenant
Personal Favorite: Emmanuel Lubezki, The Revenant

BEST COSTUME DESIGN
Sandy Powell, Carol
Sandy Powell, Cinderella
Paco Delgado, The Danish Girl
Jenny Beavan, Mad Max: Fury Road
Jacqueline West, The Revenant
Will Win: Sandy Powell, Carol
Could Win: Jenny Beavan, Mad Max: Fury Road
Should Win: Sandy Powell, Carol
Personal Favorite: Sandy Powell, Carol

BEST DIRECTING
Adam McKay, The Big Short
George Miller, Mad Max: Fury Road
Alejandro G. Iñárritu, The Revenant
Lenny Abrahamson, Room
Tom McCarthy, Spotlight
Will Win: Alejandro G. Iñárritu, The Revenant
Could Win: Adam McKay, The Big Short
Should Win: Adam McKay, The Big Short
Personal Favorite: Adam McKay, The Big Short
Deliberation: Alejandro G. Iñárritu is able to break the record to win Best Directing twice in a row. He is so strong at the later stage of the award season and it is out of my expectation too. Adam McKay's direction to the movie did surprise me as he uses an innovative idea to enrich the movie. George Miller may win this due to overdue status but this is less than likely. Out of the five nominees, I have watched four of their performances (not including George Miller).

God Help the Girl (2014)

God Help the Girl
30 October 2014
片長:112 Minutes
導演:Stuart Murdoch
演出:Emily Browning, Olly Alexander, Hannah Murray

電影講述一名患有厭食症的女生Eve(Emily Browning飾)逃離精神病院到格拉斯哥追尋音樂夢,在途中遇上音樂愛好者James(Olly Alexander飾)和他的學生Cassie(Hannah Murray飾),三人很快成為朋友。

Sucker PunchThe UninvitedLemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events。 Olly Alexander來自英國,他是樂隊Years & Years的主唱,同時也參演過不少銀幕上的演出,包括Bright StarGulliver's TravelsGreat Expectations。

God Help the Girl Who Needs All the Help She Can Get",總是覺得有點從容隨意,不知道大家對歌曲的要求又是怎樣的?

片長:141 Minutes

演出:Robert Downey, Jr., Robert Duvall

社會上每個人的職業也早已被安排,Jonas(Brenton Thwaites飾)、Asher(Cameron Monaghan飾)和Fiona(Odeya Rush飾)都很期待在十六歲時會被安排甚麼工作。

The Odd Life of Timothy GreenWhen the Devil Comes。

他參演的電影大約八十部,作品包括Spider-Man系列、JunoUp in the Air。

電影中的男主角Leonardo(Ghilherme Lobo飾)天生患有眼疾而失明,他能真正做到只用內心感受其他人的對待。
