Comment: In a desperate year for myself, I did not have too much time to watch movies. Some of the awards are quite shocking but all deserve to win. LOOK FORWARD TO THE 2020 OSCARS!!

2019 Academy Awards Full List Final Prediction and Will/Should Win Plus Deliberations (For Some Awards)

Stay tune for the Academy Awards on 5 March to see who is going to win big that day!! Here are my final predictions.

BEST PICTURE
Black Panther
BlacKkKlansman
Bohemian Rhapsody
The Favourite
Green Book
Roma
A Star Is Born
Vice
Will Win: Roma
Could Win: The Favourite
Should Win: Roma
Personal Favorite: The Favourite
Deliberation: Roma is the frontrunner after uncountable wins in precursors. The style and message is a great breakthrough in modern world. BlacKkKlansman and Green Book discuss racial and sexuality problems in the US. They are unlikely to win this time as the latest Best Picture winners are similar in themes. The Favourite is one of the best comedies of decades with palace setting. It is expected to get some votes from British brigades of voters.Black Panther is the first picture from Marvel universe getting nominated for the biggest prize. Out of the eight nominees this year, I have watched three of them (not including BlacKkKlansman, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Favourite, Roma and Vice).

BEST ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE
Christian Bale, Vice
Bradley Cooper, A Star Is Born
Willem Dafoe, At Eternity's Gate
Rami Malek, Bohemian Rhapsody
Viggo Mortensen, Green Book
Will Win: Rami Malek, Bohemian Rhapsody
Could Win: Christian Bale, Vice
Should Win: Rami Malek, Bohemian Rhapsody
Personal Favorite: Viggo Mortensen, Green Book
Deliberation: Christian Bale should have this in the bag if the voters can stand on his side. Rami Malek gains a lot of support from the audience and critics for his portrayal of legendary musician Freddie Mercury. His path is like Eddie Redmayne from The Theory of Everything in 2015. Willem Dafoe also performs very well but he seems not going to win on Sunday night. Out of the five nominees, I have watched two of their performances (not including Christian Bale, Willem Dafoe and Rami Malek).

BEST ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLE
Yalitza Aparicio, Roma
Glenn Close, The Wife
Olivia Colman, The Favourite
Lady Gaga, A Star Is Born
Melissa McCarthy, Can You Ever Forgive Me?
Will Win: Glenn Close, The Wife
Could Win: Olivia Colman, The Favourite
Should Win: Lady Gaga, A Star Is Born
Personal Favorite: Lady Gaga, A Star Is Born
Deliberation: Glenn Close win be crowned as the overdue status is too strong to overcome. The case is a repetition of Julianne Moore's victory for Still Alice in 2015. Some may argue the role of Olivia Colman is not very appropriate to be classified as leading performance. I hope that she can surprise us on Sunday night. Lady Gaga has an excellent demonstration of musician transforming to actor in a successful way. Her devotion deserves the highest recognition of the night. Out of the five nominees, I have watched one of their performances (not including Yalitza Aparicio, Glenn Close, Olivia Colman and Melissa McCarthy).

BEST ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE
Mahershala Ali, Green Book
Adam Driver, BlacKkKlansman
Sam Elliott, A Star Is Born
Richard E. Grant, Can You Ever Forgive Me?
Sam Rockwell, Vice
Will Win: Mahershala Ali, Green Book
Could Win: Richard E. Grant, Can You Ever Forgive Me?
Should Win: Mahershala Ali, Green Book
Personal Favorite: Mahershala Ali, Green Book
Deliberation: Mahershala Ali should be able to make history. His show in the movie is spectacular and impressive. In my opinion, some of the nominees should be replaced by those are snubbed as the performance is generally not very outstanding. This may hint us the voters' preference on the picture race. If any upset happens, Richard E. Grant should be the spoiler. Out of the five nominees, I have watched two of their performance (not including Adam Driver, Richard E. Grant and Sam Rockwell).

BEST ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE
Amy Adams, Vice
Marina de Tavira, Roma
Regina King, If Beale Street Could Talk
Emma Stone, The Favourite
Rachel Weisz, The Favourite
Will Win: Rachel Weisz, The Favourite
Could Win: Regina King, If Beale Street Could Talk
Should Win: Regina King, If Beale Street Could Talk
Personal Favorite: Amy Adams, Vice
Deliberation: The race for this category is an unsure bet since the award indicators are not in the same direction. When it comes to chances, the statue will either belong to Regina King or Rachel Weisz. Even though both of them did win some major awards, the former is threatened due to lacking nominations from BAFTA and SAG. The answer will only prevail at the last moment. Amy Adams is not going to win this time probably and I really want to see her win anytime in the future. Out of the five nominees, I have watched none of their performances.

BEST ANIMATED FEATURE FILM
Incredibles 2
Isle of Dogs
Mirai
Ralph Breaks the Internet
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
Will Win: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
Could Win: Incredibles 2
Should Win: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
Personal Favorite: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
Deliberation: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is very popular in the public and the industry. The innovation from the feature is out of the box and can break the domination of Disney Animation for consecutive win in years. Isle of Dogs is also an interesting project. Japanese animated feature seems to become a sure bet for nomination. Out of the five nominees, I have watched three of them (not including Isle of Dogs and Mirai).

BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY
Łukasz Żal, Cold War
Robbie Ryan, The Favourite
Caleb Deschanel, Never Look Away
Alfonso Cuarón, Roma
Matthew Libatique, A Star Is Born
Will Win: Alfonso Cuarón, Roma
Could Win: Łukasz Żal, Cold War
Should Win: Alfonso Cuarón, Roma
Personal Favorite: Alfonso Cuarón, Roma

BEST COSTUME DESIGN
Mary Zophres, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
Ruth Carter, Black Panther
Sandy Powell, The Favourite
Sandy Powell, Mary Poppins Returns
Alexandra Byrne, Mary Queen of Scots
Will Win: Sandy Powell, The Favourite
Could Win: Ruth Carter, Black Panther
Should Win: Ruth Carter, Black Panther
Personal Favorite: Ruth Carter, Black Panther

BEST DIRECTING
Spike Lee, BlacKkKlansman
Paweł Pawlikowski, Cold War
Yorgos Lanthimos, The Favourite
Alfonso Cuarón, Roma
Adam McKay, Vice
Will Win: Alfonso Cuarón, Roma
Could Win: Yorgos Lanthimos, The Favourite
Should Win: Alfonso Cuarón, Roma
Personal Favorite: Alfonso Cuarón, Roma
Deliberation: Alfonso Cuarón brings us a new cinematic experience to tell his own story. He deserves to win his second award for directing. Yorgos Lanthimos is also renowned for his features to discuss special topics. It is a big surprise to have Paweł Pawlikowski be included with Bradley Cooper out of the game. The foreign picture may have chances to shine. Out of the five nominees, I have watched none of their performances.
